How to Restring French Horn

Welcome back! Here we are again with another instrument repair tip. Restringing a french horn rotor valve is probably one of the most common headaches that band directors face in an emergency situation. It usually feels like you are working with all thumbs, and requires a lot of practice to become proficient at it. Years ago, my first restring probably took me at least 30 minutes...And, that was only one valve!

Below, I tried to take you step by step in a video that outlines at least the basics to get your french horn playing again in the event of broken string.
